Ah, nice. Mine has eight perspective characters, with a main character Akira. The story begins with him murdering an executive for revenge, and getting arrested. He escapes, and in time for a syndicate revolt that ultimately ends in failure due to infighting and weaker armed forces.
Nice, I'm also writing a story set in Neon District and Zaibatsu, although I changed aspects of the setting to my personal liking (I switched the setting from North America to Kyoto, changed the year from 2042 to 2052, et cetera).

This note has been around for a long time, and has been decoded many, many times as well. However, after thorough analysis we still aren't sure the exact meaning of the translation.
Technically, I guess you could. Since annoyance is a singular noun, you probably could say that. It would not be common to do so, however.
A person can not be a 'syndicate'. A syndicate is not a criminal. A syndicate is defined as a group or organization that enacts organized crime on a large scale! Again, if you were playing in the Syndicate Role, you would NOT write 'John A. Doe - XX - Syndicate'. Instead, you would write 'John A. Doe - XX - Syndicate Member'.
You wouldn't say 'I'm a corporation' or 'I'm a mafia'. So one is grammatically incorrect to say 'I'm a syndicate'
I would say since the original creators of the cyberpunk genre, such as William Gibson and Phillip K. Dick, lived in the 80s, a time where Japan looked like it was going to become a world superpower in the next decades, their writing reflected that. One common theme of cyberpunk is to have an American setting with a largely white demographic intertwined with the culture of Asia (mainly Japan). That would be my explanation, though I'd love to see more books, games, and movies that feature an Asian setting rather than a mirage of one
Personally, I would have chosen 'Citizen' as my favorite as that is the role of my main character in my Neon District inspired novel (Yes, I did get permission from InfiniteEffect via the Zaibatsu group wall on Roblox). Albeit out of those stated, I am conflicted between Hacker, City Security Officer, and Syndicate Member, as they are all some of my favorite roles to roleplay as. I personally chose Hacker for the poll because that is another (at least in my opinion) compelling character that I've written. (The hacker's name is Hazel Hayaki, a nineteen year old barista- and hacker- who strives to fit into societal norms and deal with misogynistic slurs, all while in a state of insurgence with the government and corporations)
